Trike-A-Thon for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Our daycare center is participating in the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Trike-A-Thon.  Please give generously to help this established organization continue in the quest for a cure for cancer.  Use the link here to donate online. This is a way to encourage our children to ride for other children.

Thanksgiving

Hopefully, everyone had a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving Day.  It is never too late to give thanks and express gratitude.  When we look at what we are thankful for, we will spend less time complaining and being ungrateful.  So take a moment to think of something to be grateful for RIGHT NOW.  Seriously, take a moment to think of something or someone you are grateful for.

Now lets look at what our babies did for Thanksgiving Day.

PURPLE FRIDAY

Today we had a special guest for Purple Friday.  Penny!!!

Eva's God-mother brought in Penny for Show-N-Tell.

This was a two-for-one.  Purple Friday and Show-N-Tell all in one.

Jaelyn also wanted to share her Show-N-Tell with everyone and look at her Team Spirit.  She shared her jack-in-the-box.

American Education Week

We would like to say, "Thank you" to Mr. Pitts for spending some time to read to Ms. Sandra's class.  The children enjoyed having him read to them.  He was very expressive and kept their attention for the story.

During American Education Week, we have asked each parent, guardian and care-giver to send a book with their children daily to be read by the teacher or any who chooses to do so.

We encourage reading to our children to get them into the good habit of reading which leads to learning.  Reading opens the children's imaginations and introduces them to new vocabulary and maybe some new characters as in Mr. Pitts' story.  This is a good time to bond and spend some good quality time with children.

Thank you to all of the parents and guests who have read to our children this week :).

Vision Screening

For the past two days,  Audrey Novak, MS, of the Maryland Society for Sight has been here testing the vision of our children.  She has the patience of a saint and her gentle demeanor moved the children through the exercises with ease.

The older children used the E and told which direction it faced.

For the younger children she used shapes for them to identify.
Ms. Audrey even wore PURPLE on Friday when she came back to finish the exams.  Go RAVENS!
